Afsaal Picnic Site

Afsaal Picnic Spot is very popular with tourists entering or leaving the Park, as it is situated just off the main road between Malelane Gate and Skukuza.

Features

A tree which a pair of Scops Owls have been roosting for the past 12 years. They can usually be seen there during the day. A huge termite mound, with explanations of how a termite colony functions.

Afsaal Location

Afsaal is 22km/1hr north of Malelane Gate on the H3; 40km/2hr south of Skukuza on the H3, and 36km/2hr from Pretoriuskop along the H2-2 to where it meets the H3. Near the intersection of H3 and H2-2 on road from Skukuza to Malelane.
