Directions to N'wanetsi Picnic Site
N'wanetsi Picnic Site is a "must visit" picnic site. It is separated into 2 areas: one is the usual picnic site, and the other is a viewing site about 200 metres along and up a stone path to a superb view site of the N'wanetsi River and to the plains beyond.
Plan to spend some time after breakfast sitting at the viewing site, perhaps with a cup of coffee, with your binoculars, and looking for interesting birds and animals that inhabit the area.
Our Virtual Tour and pictures show you this beautiful thatched platform and its views, and are definitely worth looking at
N'wanetsi Picnic Site is a typical site, having a kiosk from which you can purchase cold soft drinks, and hire your gas cannister. Picnic tables are placed under a few of the trees, but the main picnic area is under a huge thatch roof which keeps you out of the hot rays of the sun.
N'wanetsi Picnic site is 25km/1hr from Satara, using H1-3/H6 tar road route, and 34km 1hr 30min along the S100/S41 sand road route.
