Description
Located on an old gold mine site, Gold Reef City recreates the gold rush era with Victorian architecture and attractions centered on Johannesburg's mining heritage.
The theme park offers a range of thrill rides, including:
- Anaconda inverted roller coaster

- Jozi Express roller coaster (passes through treetops and mine dumps with views of Johannesburg CBD)
- Miner’s Revenge
- River Rage rapids
- Runaway Train

- Tower of Terror (a vertical drop roller coaster into an old mine shaft)
Less intense rides include the Log Ride, Mermaid, 4D Movies, Balloon Wheel, Bumper Cars, Fun Train, and Lazy Boat.
Mine Tour
The underground mine tour descends 75 meters to the original gold mine workings. A guided museum explains mining processes such as explosive use and safety measures for miners. The tour concludes with a live gold pouring demonstration.
