Nhlanguleni Picnic Spot is a quiet picnic spot on the S36, about 3km from the beautiful Lugmag (or Air force) Dam, which acts as a magnet to the animals in the area.
Facilities
Nhlanguleni does not have a shop - only a kiosk from which one can buy soft drinks, and gas, on which one can prepare one's own breakfast. Old fashioned steel picnic tables and chairs are placed around the picnic spot. As there are only a few trees in this Picnic Spot you should come prepared with sun hats, just in case you can't get a table in the shade.
Features
Hlanguleni, being far away from any large camps, has relatively few visitors, giving it an isolated, peaceful feel. The waterhole, seen from the Picnic Spot, attracts a ranges of animals from Lions, to Elephants, to Buffalo, and even the rare Sable Antelope. This makes this unpretentious Picnic Spot a preferred stopping place amongst those preferring the wilderness option.
