The train stops at Rhodesfield and Marlboro on the way there, taking only 12 minutes for the whole journey. With the Station being right inside the airport terminal, it is not a long walk to either the departure or the arrivals hall - the Gautrain is definitely very easy to use.
On the way back, the route ends at Sandton Station, and you are right in the heart of the posh Northern Sandton. From here you have the options of changing trains to go north towards Pretoria, or south towards Johannesburg City. At every station you can select either Gautrain buses or taxis to take you to your destination.
