Description
Starting from Johannesburg, the tour begins with a road transfer of approximately five hours to Kruger National Park, one of Africa’s largest game reserves. On arrival, settle in at Kruger Adventure Lodge or a similar hotel before embarking on a sunset game safari in an open 4x4 vehicle, guided by qualified rangers.
Day two offers a full day safari in Kruger National Park focused on spotting the Big Five: lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino, as well as diverse other wildlife. Safaris depart early morning, with summer times at 5:30am and winter at 6:00am, returning around 3:00pm. Lunch stops at rest camps are available at your own expense.
On day three, explore Blyde River Canyon’s natural landmarks:
- God’s Window: Provides panoramic views over the Lowveld, steep ravines, and indigenous forests.
- Bourke’s Luck Potholes: Cylindrical rock formations carved by swirling river water at the confluence of the Treur and Blyde Rivers.
- The Three Rondavels: Three distinctive rock formations resembling traditional African huts, offering wide-ranging views over the canyon.
On day four, after breakfast, the tour returns to Johannesburg, with stops to experience local Mpumalanga Province villages and meet residents before concluding in the afternoon.
