The Bryanston Country Club is conveniently located in the middle of this lush residential zone. The Bryanston Country Club offers a fine par 73 golf course that was established back in 1948, and over the years is has been impeccably maintained.
The course is tough, and if you’re still working on perfecting your accuracy you might want to stock up on extra balls – 13 of the 18 holes feature some form of water hazard. The narrow fairways and smaller than average greens also reward accurate stroke makers, and the stroke-one third hole is a perfect example of this. You will need to keep your wits about you to break even on this taxing par four.
As you would expect from a club as old as this, there is a great spirit and a strong sense of tradition lining the hallways, and on the course you’ll find some of the region’s oldest and most majestic trees. It’s clear that this course has been designed with better golfers in mind, but at the same time it offers the more amateur players the chance to hone their game and attempt to hold their own on this Johannesburg classic.
