The Cradle Forest Camp and Reserve

For those who feel that a brief visit to The Cradle Nature Reserve is simply not enough, there's The Cradle Forest Camp. A short drive from the restaurant, this unique getaway is beautifully located beside a murmuring stream underneath shady trees.
The Forest Camp's chalets offer eight private wood-and-thatch A-frame units. All units (sleeping two people each) are fully fitted for self-catering and each group of four chalets has a communal lapa and braai area. Each unit has a small bathroom and a kitchenette. They are equipped with everything from a fridge, to linen, crockery, cutlery, glassware, cooking utensils, stove and kettle and are fully serviced.
Various activities can be arranged, such as Guided Walks and Game Drives. Our drives and walks will provide you with the opportunity to see everything from rhino, giraffe, antelope, wildebeest, zebra, and more, not to mention the vast array of bird life, paleo and geology.
For those who wish to dine out, The Cradle Restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Buffet breakfasts are served on Friday, Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays from 8.30 am until 11.30. Sunday lunch offer a choice of an ala Carte menu or set menu .
Bush picnics for groups of ten people or more are also a lovely alternative in this beautiful environment.
Rules and regulations regarding the Forest Camp:
Check in time is any time between 12pm and 7pm. Check out time is 10:00am sharp. Those who wish to stay after 10:00am may pay full amount of the daily rate per person for full usage of facilities and the chalet. Guests attending a function at The Cradle Restaurant are asked to check in at the Forest Camp before proceeding to the Restaurant in order to collect keys and check in. Bring your own torches. During winter there are heaters, electric blankets and hot water bottles. Firewood is available at R 20.00 a bundle. It is recommended that you bring your own charcoal or firelighters.
No pets, i.e. dogs, cats or other are allowed within The Cradle Nature Reserve. Walking and Mountain Biking are welcome in and around the surrounds of the camp. The Cradle does not accept liability for loss of, or damage to the property or life of the Client. The property is entered at own risk.
No items may be removed from any structure of the Property, without prior consent of Management.
All accounts are payable as stipulated, or as otherwise advised by Management. Breakages or damage to property caused by the client will be charged to the account at the discretion of Management. No substances of a Geological or Fauna & Flora nature may be removed from the place where it was found.
