1945 On Kloof Guesthouse

1945 On Kloof Guesthouse is an accommodation and event venue on Frederick Street in Johannesburg. Its character combines a residential guesthouse setting with a polished, comfortable approach to short stays, making it suitable for both business travel and leisure breaks. The venue presents an atmosphere built around comfort, sophistication and practical convenience rather than a formal hotel-style experience.

Accommodation is arranged across a selection of individually named suites, including Court Suite 1, Court Suite 2, Preen Suite, Garden Suite, Multi-Functional Suite, Main Suite, Terrace Suite and Sun-Deck Suite. The range gives the property a varied room profile, with options connected to different parts of the guesthouse. Room facilities listed by the venue include air conditioning or heating, tea and coffee-making facilities, hairdryers, safes, smart televisions and en-suite bathrooms.

The rooms are designed for stays that require straightforward in-room amenities alongside a more considered setting. Air conditioning and heating support comfort across changing conditions, while tea and coffee facilities, a safe and a smart TV add useful conveniences. The en-suite bathroom arrangement gives each room a private bathroom setting, and the named suites provide a distinctive identity within the property.

Beyond accommodation, 1945 On Kloof provides customised event planning and function hosting. The venue caters for a range of private and social occasions, with cooking evenings, birthday parties, bridal showers, baby showers, work functions and year-end functions included among its event formats. This makes the property relevant not only to overnight guests but also to organisers looking for a setting for a hosted gathering or celebration.

Cooking evenings form part of the venue’s event offering, adding a more participatory format to its functions. The event service is presented as adaptable, with planning handled around the requirements of each booking. Private celebrations and work-related occasions can therefore sit alongside guesthouse stays within the same venue.

Located in Observatory, the guesthouse offers a base for visitors seeking accommodation with event facilities attached. It suits business travellers, leisure guests, organisers of private functions and groups arranging structured occasions. The overall offering centres on suite accommodation, practical facilities and an events programme in a setting that combines everyday comfort with a more styled presentation.
