Description

Depart from your hotel at 8am and travel to the Lion and Safari Park within the Cradle of Humankind, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rich palaeo-anthropological significance.

The Lion and Safari Park covers 600 hectares and offers close encounters with South Africa’s iconic wildlife. Upon arrival, take a 90-minute game drive in an open 4x4 vehicle to see predators like lions, hyenas, wild dogs, cheetahs, and leopards. Knowledgeable guides will lead you through lion and wild enclosures and show you three hyena species.

During the drive, you may also see giraffes, ostriches, and various antelope species roaming freely. After the safari, you can use the park’s restaurant facilities at your own expense. There is also a playground next to the restaurant for children.

Next, proceed to the Lesedi Cultural Village, set in the African bushveld amidst rocky hills in the Cradle of Humankind. Explore five traditional homesteads representing the Zulu, Xhosa, Pedi, Basotho, and Ndebele tribes. Experience their customs, folklore, music, and song while learning about their unique cultural heritage.

The tour concludes with your return to Johannesburg, arriving back at your hotel around 5pm, depending on traffic.
