Directions to Mathekenyane Hill View
Mathekenyane Hill has an almost magical feeling about it - especially as the sun creeps above the horizon or gradually slides below the bushveld limit - which extends as far as the horizon.
Not many people visit the "rock", as they unknowingly drive past it on the road to Afsaal and Malelane Gate. However, stopping at the top and taking in the view and peaceful atmosphere is a rejuvenating experience. Its not about the game that you can see from the top - but rather about seeing the vastness of the area below you and realizing that there is more to life than surface.
Mathekenyane is a "must see" in the Kruger Park.
This Hill is often used by the Park for corporate or private functions. You may be taken there to have drinks as the sun goes down and then taken back to Skukuza after your function is over. Small wedding receptions have even been held on Mathekenyane.
For further information we suggest that you phone Skukuza Camp using the numbers given here.
Mathekanyane is approximately 10km south of Skukuza on the H1-1 to Malelane.
