The tour begins at the BOOK IBHONI office on Kumalo Street, opposite the Hector Pieterson Museum. After a warm local welcome, you will explore Soweto’s vibrant streets, visit Vilakazi Street, and pass the former homes of Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. Your local guide will share stories about Soweto’s history and daily life.
Included in the tour are local street food tastings such as amagwinya (fat cakes) on morning tours and kota (a street-style burger). The experience also includes two stops for local South African beer, with one beer served at each stop.
