Description

Your tour begins with pick-up from your location and a short drive from Johannesburg to Pretoria.

The first stop is the Voortrekker Monument, which commemorates the history of the Voortrekkers—Dutch settlers searching for new opportunities in South Africa. The monument highlights stories of war, peace, bravery, and pioneering families.

Next, the tour visits the Paul Kruger House, home of South Africa’s former State President. Although it has not been fully maintained, the house reflects the wealth and lifestyle of the Boer people during that era.

The tour continues with a drive through Pretoria, showcasing both historical and modern aspects of the city. You will see significant buildings around Church Square and the Supreme Court, noted for their architectural interest.

The final stop is the Union Buildings, designed by Sir Herbert Baker. The grounds offer year-round gardens and a photo opportunity with the large Nelson Mandela statue set against the iconic buildings.

The return journey includes a drive through Pretoria’s Jacaranda-lined streets, home to embassies and Pretoria University. If time allows, there is an option for a visit to Menlyn Maine for a meal at Tashas restaurant.
