The first stop is Diepkloof and the Chris Hani Baragwanath district, where you get an introduction to Soweto’s size, culture, and community energy. Next, a short walk through Orlando West provides insight into local life.
Visit the Hector Pieterson Memorial and Museum to understand the impact of the 1976 Student Uprising. Then proceed to Vilakazi Street, unique as the only street worldwide where two Nobel Peace Prize winners lived. You can view Mandela’s house externally or choose to enter for an optional fee.
