Description

Escape the city on this half-day guided excursion to one of Gauteng's most iconic natural landmarks. Departing directly from your hotel or home address in Johannesburg, your air-conditioned vehicle whisks you northwest through the Crocodile River Valley to the foothills of the Magaliesberg Mountain Range, a UNESCO-recognised ancient geological landscape stretching over 120 km. The Cableway Experience Your centrepiece is a ride on the Hartbeespoort Aerial Cableway, Africa's longest single-track mono-cableway, climbing the steep face of the Magaliesberg to a mountain-top viewing platform. From the summit, sweeping 360-degree vistas open across the Hartbeespoort Dam, the Crocodile River Valley, and the rolling bush of the North West Province. On a clear day, the Johannesburg skyline is visible on the horizon. The Summit Trail A paved mountain walkway winds between multiple viewpoints at the top station. Interpretive signage along the trail covers the geology, indigenous flora, and cultural history of the Magaliesberg, making this as educational as it is scenic. The trail is accessible to most fitness levels and takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes at a relaxed pace. At the Top The summit complex includes a kids' play zone, curio shops featuring local crafts, and a restaurant serving light meals and refreshments (own account). There is space to relax, take photos, and soak in the elevated surroundings before your return descent. Convenient and Fully Guided Your driver-guide handles all logistics, including entrance fees and parking, so you arrive relaxed and ready to enjoy. Complimentary bottled water and onboard Wi-Fi are included throughout the journey.
