Join us for a relaxed cycling tour through the vibrant streets of Orlando East and West, two of Soweto’s popular townships. Starting at our BOOK IBHONI office opposite the Hector Pieterson Museum, your guide will welcome you with a traditional drink and introduce you to the day’s tour, including cultural tips and local greetings. Along the route, we’ll visit historic sites like Mandela House, Orlando train station and the Hector Pieterson Memorial. As we ride, you’ll taste Soweto through its food and people, amagwinya (fat cakes), a Kota for lunch and stops at local taverns for a cold beer and conversation with locals. The tour includes two meals, beer tastings and unforgettable stories from the community. The route is easy with a few hills, suitable for anyone with moderate fitness. Kids are welcome too, soda for them! Bring your energy, curiosity and small bills for souvenirs or street performer tips (optional). Safe parking is available if you’re driving in.
