We pick you up from your hotel or guest house and enter Soweto through Diepkloof Extension, stop at the welcome to Soweto signage to take pictures and to learn about the demographics, history behind the establishment of Soweto. The tour proceed, we stop at Diepkloof hostels and family units,to view and to share information about the housing project initiated by former President Nelson Mandela. We pass Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital, Orlando Towers, Johannesburg University Soweto campus, Rea Vaya bus in transit station on our way to the Popular attraction Vilakazi street where Mandela museum house is situated. Entrance to the house is optional. We proceed to Hector Pieterson memorial named after a 13 year old boy who was brutally murdered during Soweto students uprising in 1976. We share information about the 1976 student uprisings and the liberation struggle in South Africa. Hector Pieterson museum is closed on Mondays. Entrance fee to inside the museum is optional Hawkers at Hector Pieterson Memorial. are selling artifacts, curios and clothing; we give you time to browse the flea market and the curio shop incase there is a need. You can taste South African cuisine buffet lunch at Sakhumzi restaurant situated close to Mandela house or have light lunch at the local restaurant.( Own account )
