As soon as you’re picked from your hotel or place of stay, your tour guide will brief you about the activity program of the day before departing to Soweto. As we get to Orlando west you visit Vilakazi streeet and drive past the former home of Nelson Mandela and the past home of Archbishop Desmond Tutu. You’ll have the opportunity to read about the history Soweto uprising on the 16th of June 1976, which is now celebrated every year on the 16th June as Youth Day. Going forward you drive past the Varsity campus ( Soweto Campus ) of the University of Johannesburg and end your tour with a stop at the largest hospital in the world known as Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital After Lunch on your own account, you will arrive at the world famous Apartheid Museum. Here you will learn about the history and struggle of South Africa during apartheid. Once you’re done at the Apartheid Museum, you head to Johannesburg City nicknamed Egoli in Zulu language.
