As soon as you’re picked from your hotel or place of stay, your tour guide will brief you about the activity program of the day before departing to Soweto. On the way to Soweto you pass by the National Football Stadium also known as FNB Stadium which held the major tournaments such as African Cup of Nations in 1996, the FIFA World Cup in 2010 and the African Cup of Nations in 2013. On the way you’ll enter an area called Diepkloof, you’ll walk past street vendors and see the busy life of hustlers as Johannesburg is know as the city of Gold and opportunities. As we get to Orlando west you visit Vilakazi streeet and drive past the former home of Nelson Mandela and the past home of Archbishop Desmond Tutu. You’ll have the opportunity to read about the history Soweto uprising on the 16th of June 1976, which is now celebrated every year on the 16th June as Youth Day. Going forward you drive past the Varsity campus ( Soweto Campus ) of the University of Johannesburg and end your tour with a stop at the largest hospital in the world known as Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital After Lunch on your own account, you will arrive at the world famous Apartheid Museum. Here you will learn about the history and struggle of South Africa during apartheid. Once you’re done at the Apartheid Museum, you head to Johannesburg City nicknamed Egoli in Zulu language. As we enter into the city you get to see the impressive 269 meter Telkom Tower, and the Constitution Hill and Court. During the tour you get to learn about the legal history of Johannesburg. As you head to Newtown you pass the longest Southern African bridge named Nelson Mandela Bridge.
