Directions to Heia Safari Ranch
Heia Safari Ranch is situated in peaceful bushveld surroundings, below the Swartkops Mountains and on the banks of the clean waters of Lake Heritage. With over 170 bird species, giraffe, zebra, springbok, wildebeest, and other animals roaming the Estate, you could easily be mistaken for thinking that you were miles away from anywhere!
However, this is only a wonderful illusion, because Heia Safari is only 30 minutes away from Sandton and Pretoria, giving you easy access to first world shopping, the incredible vibe of Soweto, insights into the life of Nelson Mandela, the renewal of the Inner City of Johannesburg, and access to the many museums and historical places of interest in and around Greater Joburg. There are also wildlife parks and the fascinating Cradle of Humankind, where mankind originated, right on your doorstep.
Accommodation at Heia Safari Ranch is designed to heighten your experience of nature - separate thatched bungalows, known as 'rondavels' are scattered amongst the trees and animals on the land between the Lake and the main buildings. Each bungalow is designed to meet your needs for a great stay - comfortable beds and a bathroom suite are standard features! There are also a verandas, some with lake views, on which you can sit and watch the wildlife.
In the main buildings, there is an unusual African styled bar (with a leopard in it!), or you can sit next to the pool and take in the peacefulness of the Ranch.
The thatched restaurant overlooks the pool and it is ideally suited to catering for rural weddings, private functions, or conferences that are regularly held there. Several different menus are on offer, and on Sundays Heia Safari puts on a superb buffet feast and tribal dancing.
The fully equipped Conference Centre has two main conference rooms, one of which is very large and four break-away rooms with cloakrooms, telephone and internet facilities.
Amongst the activities to be found on the Estate include game drives, canoeing, fishing, walking and cycling.
Heia Safari Ranch is perfectly suited to a stay where both bushveld and urban experiences are to be found in a relaxed and comfortable setting - it's ideal for both local and foreign visitors.
