Berg en Dal Camp
Johannesburg
Berg-en-Dal is a beautiful rest camp that rests on the banks of the Matjulu Spruit. The first thing that strikes you about Berg-en-Dal is their concerted effort to maintain as much natural vegetation in the camp as possible, which helps to really put you into bush mode. Dry riverbeds and a dam, border the camp, and to the east you will be greeted by beautiful views of rolling hills, making this a particularly pretty and serene accommodation option within the park.
Berg-en-Dal is also in the heart of the prehistoric settlements along the Matjulu Spruit, and to this day visitors can still view authentic San rock paintings when on the popular Bushman overnight trail.
The rest camp is large, and thus offers a significant range of accommodation options, and many of the amenities and conveniences of other camps in the park of a similar size.
Berg-en-Dal Game Viewing
One of the major draw-cards of Berg-en-Dal remains its location amongst the hills and valleys of the Southern Kruger Park. It has perfect conditions for a wide range of animals, and sightings of various wildlife and bird species are not uncommon.
Common in the area: White Rhino, Elephant, and general game.
If you are lucky you may see: Lion, Leopard, Wild dog, Klipspringer, Scarlet-chested Sunbird, Heuglin's Robin
